What is your Human Design authority?
Your authority in Human Design is where your real decisions get made — not in the mind, but in a specific place in the body determined by your chart. It is the single most useful thing a chart gives you, because it tells you which signal to trust when everything is arguing.
The seven authorities
Emotional authority, from a defined Solar Plexus. Sacral authority, from a defined Sacral with the Solar Plexus open. Splenic authority, from a defined Spleen. Ego authority, from a defined Heart. Self-Projected authority, spoken out through a defined Throat connected to the G center. Mental authority, which works through the right environment and trusted conversation. And Lunar authority, which belongs to Reflectors and takes a full lunar cycle.
They are ranked, not chosen. The engine works down the list: if the Solar Plexus is defined, that is your authority, whatever else is going on in the chart. Emotional overrides everything.
What emotional authority really asks of you
If your Solar Plexus is defined, you have no truth in the moment. None. The high is not a yes and the low is not a no — both are points on a wave you are riding, and the answer only becomes visible once the wave has settled.
The whole practice is sleeping on it. Not because you are indecisive, but because you are designed to know over time, and every decision you have ever regretted was probably made at the top or the bottom of a wave.
Why the mind is never the authority
The mind is magnificent, and it is not the decision-maker for anyone. It is designed to think, to weigh, to advise the world — not to run your life from the front seat. Human Design does not ask you to stop thinking. It asks you to stop letting the thinking cast the deciding vote.
When you begin deciding from your actual authority, the change is not subtle. Life stops feeling like something you have to argue your way through.
